More Orlando-Pulse Quilts

Not only did members of the guild get together to construct quilts made with blocks from many members but some members of our guild took it upon themselves to make their own quilt contributions.

Peggy Notestine and her sister Patricia made this beautiful quilt for the Pulse quilt drive.  Patricia made the blocks, sent them to Peg, who then added the sashing and the borders.  Don’t those colors pop against the black!

… and isn’t the pieced inset border great!

The prolific Ellie Leach made six quilts for the Pulse drive and Community Service. I have photos of just three of them.  Since these hearts go in all directions, there’s no wrong way to display this square quilt!

Forgive the blurriness … I figured you’d rather see them blurry than not at all.

That’s all the photos I have… I hope to see you in a week at our next NLQG meeting, August 10th for our ice cream social along with a huge show n’ tell!

Latest Orlando-Pulse Quilt

Today a few of us met at the Howe Library to put together the latest of our quilts for the Orlando Quilts for Pulse Charity Drive organized by the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild and publicized by the nationwide Modern Quilt Guild.

I thought you might like to see today’s creation!

Isn’t it great… I can’t wait to see it once it’s back from the quilter’s!

I know that many of you have either participated in the workdays and/or contributed blocks, fabric and your time.  THANK YOU!

AND… if you have photos of the quilts created during the first workday, 08/17/2016, please email them to me at dmsburrell[at]gmail[dot]com and I’ll be pleased to post them here for everyone  to admire.
